Incense is a substance that when it is burned releases a fragrant scent. It can be made up of a variety of combustible materials that hold their structure in a particular shape. Mostly commonly incense is made up of plant-based material including different types of resins, seed, roots, barks, and flowers.
Incense comes in virtually any scent imaginable. Some of the most popular ones include citrus, coconut, cinnamon, evergreen, honey, lavender, nag champa, and sandalwood. These incenses can be purchased as a coil, cone, powder, or stick depending on what is most convenient for you. The burning time typically lasts an hour or more.
